Amelia Island Parent Cooperative Preschool Testimonials

“It’s inexpensive and keeps you involved.”

Amelia Island Co Op has 2 programs, one for 2-year-olds (Tuesday & Thursday) and one for 3-year-olds (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). The cost is very inexpensive at $125 per month for the 2’s, and $175 for 3’s.  Each day is the same teacher, but different aides for the 2’s and 3’s class.

Part of the lower than most preschools price is the “cooperative part.” Each  parent provides volunteers every 8+ weeks and brings the snack for that day for the class. Also, each parent has jobs (example: Fundraising for silent auction. You get quite a few choices). Also a few maintenance hours are required, like yard work, painting, or helping clean up inside.

Overall The AIPCP is a good place. It’s inexpensive and keeps you involved with meetings, volunteering, etc. They have a nice selection of toys and try to make circle time fun and exciting with songs, books, etc.  They have a nice outdoor area to play everyday (which it’s great the kids can get exercise).

The teachers and aides along with the board will do their very best to address any questions, problems, or concerns you have.

They may be a little lax in some areas and I do feel there is a lot to gain from some of the other preschools in the area, too. But, you’ll end up paying a bit more. — Anna, Fernandina Beach, April 2012
