Ingrid Harding, shown with her daughter Sarah, is on a mission to cure Rett Syndrome. You can help by donating gently used kids’ items for our fundraiser!

Are you drowning in toys after adding your kids’ Christmas gifts to the piles of toys they already had all over the house?

Do you have gently-used kids’ clothes that would be perfect for another child?

Consider donating the items your kids have outgrown to our “all kids’ stuff” yard sale to benefit Girl Power 2 Cure, an inspiring Amelia Island-based nonprofit working to end Rett Syndrome. This debilitating neurological disorder – the most severe form of autism – robs little girls of their basic motor skills. They’re born appearing to be healthy, but then they digress, losing the ability to use their hands, walk or even talk in many cases.

The good news is, researchers have been able to reverse Rett Syndrome in the lab in mice. That means there’s a very good chance there is a cure for Rett Syndrome, which could lead to cures for many other forms of neurological disorders.

We will pick up your items, or you can drop them off in Yulee.

If you have items you’d like to donate, please message Mamameila on Facebook, call 904-849-7106 or email Last year, we had an awesome outpouring of support from local parents, and we raised $400 for this important cause.

The yard sale will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at 86172 Sand Hickory Trail in Yulee.
