Mamamelia.com’s Divas’ Day Out event was a fabulous success on June 9, drawing lots of ladies of every age to support a local nonprofit called Girl Power 2 Cure, which is working to cure Rett Syndrome.
There were salons on site styling hair, painting nails, even doing eyebrow threading demonstrations. Women were getting temporary eyelash extensions, lining up for back massages and buying gorgeous jewelry and clothes.
On stage, we had one exciting feature after another, including fashion shows, a women’s self defense demo and fitness demos.
One of my favorite moments was when I looked up to see Baila! Fitness from Kingsland rocking the house. The ladies were busting a move to music on stage, while a crowd — which included several little girls dressed to the hilt as princesses — was dancing on the floor in front of the stage. Then Jazoo, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ mascot, made his way on stage and started busting a move, too. It was incredibly funny.
We’re so grateful for the many businesses that joined us to make Divas’ Day Out a smashing success. We had over 400 people there to support a very worthy cause. Can’t wait to do it again next year!
