Best. Brownie Recipe. Ever.

I’ve made many complicated desserts over the years, but this simple recipe is the one I’m always asked for. There are people I don’t even know who beg my husband to bring my brownies every time they have a potluck or bake sale at his work. These are not just any brownies. They have a rich, chocolate ribbon in the center that will make you swoon. What I love about the recipe is that it calls for two brownie mixes, so I get my little sous chef in the kitchen to make one mix at my side while I make the other.

Ingredients:

  • 2 (17.6 oz. or more) boxes of your favorite brownie mix, preferably with nuts (use the 9 x 13 ‘family’ size)
  • 3 (5 oz.) Hershey’s Symphony chocolate bars, preferably the kind with almonds and toffee bits in them
  • Ingredients to make mixes according to directions

Prepare one brownie mix as package instructs and spread into 9 x 13 pan.

Unwrap candy bars and place them over the brownie batter in a single layer (no need to break them up).

Prepare the second brownie mix and spread it on top of the candy bars.

Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.

Delicious warm or cooled.
